International Meditation Day Charity Meditation

  • Old Rectory Preston Deanery Road Northampton, England, NN7 United Kingdom (map)

Many of us intuitively understand how gardens can help us to connect to ourselves, the natural world and each other in deep and moving ways. So the garden feels like the perfect place to celebrate International Meditation Day (a day early, but close enough we feel!), taking our meditation practice outdoors to enhance that sense of connection.

Together with Raj Rajani, founder of Yogada Studios and master meditator, we’ve put together a charity event to mark the occasion.

The event takes place at sunset. The liminal space between day and night is an ideal time for meditation, the opportunity to withdraw into ourselves reflecting the coming to the end of the day.

Raj will lead us first in some gentle yoga to loosen muscles and encourage relaxation before guiding us in a nature influenced seated meditation exploring different meditation and breathing techniques to gently encourage a sense of connection. The yoga and meditation will last for a luxurious 90 minutes, following which we’ll round the event off with homemade cake and a choice of herbal teas.

The session is donation based, so please pay whatever you consider appropriate. All profits will be donated to Lowdown, a Northamptonshire based charity committed to supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing. Please email us at hello@garden4good.co.uk to reserve a space.

Numbers are limited to 20 in person, but we’re planning to have a zoom link to the event for anyone who would prefer to join in remotely.

NB: this is an outdoor event, so weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather on 20 May, the event will take place over Zoom

Later Event: May 23
