Sue and Emma are back for the summer season with some fabulous new outdoor mini-retreats. These mini-retreat mornings begin with a physical yoga practice on the lawn, with meditations and breathwork too, after which there’s an opportunity to swim in the garden’s natural swimming pond and /or to explore the garden and find a quiet place to be before we come together for herbal teas and homemade cakes to round off the morning in community.
This year, we’ll be making a journey through the senses. Each mini-retreat can be taken as a stand alone experience, or as part of the series.
Our senses are the instruments through which we perceive and engage with the world. Information gathered from our senses help us learn and make more informed decisions, some of which we may not be wholly conscious of. We’ll be exploring each sense in turn, and what lessons we can learn from them, over the course of the summer months.
Our sense of hearing is directly connected to our throat chakra and the element of ether. Our physical practice this month will be focused on throat-opening and will include some simple chanting and we’ll have meditations encouraging us to connect to the garden through what can be heard. After the formal practice, we’ll be encouraging you to stay awake to what can be heard as you explore the garden (bird song, rustling leaves), swim in the natural swimming pond (the sound of water as our bodies move through it…) and enjoy herbal tea and cake.
The cost of these sessions is £25, including cake and herbal tea.
NB: the mini-retreats are outdoor events, so weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rearranged and refunds offered to anyone who cannot make the revised date
