International Yoga Day Yang to Yin...and then a Swim

  • Old Rectory Preston Deanery Road Northampton, England, NN7 United Kingdom (map)

"The motion of yin and yang generates all things in nature"

- Meh Jiuzhang & Guo Lei.

We’ll be honouring the energies of the summer solstice and celebrating International Yoga Day at our Yang to Yin event on June 22. The yoga session will begin with a dynamic Yang flow to build strength and stability before moving to a nourishing Yin practice, encouraging flexibility, openness and surrender.

A Yang to Yin yoga practice is a specialty of Raj Rajani, our teacher fo the session. The Yang practice is perfectly timed to reflect this brightest time of the year, whilst the Yin segment will remind us not to neglect the need to look within despite the natural external focus of our energies at this time. All abilities are welcome (although the Yang practice might be a little challenging for beginner Yogis…adaptations will be offered).

The yoga practice will last for an hour or so, and be followed with an optional outdoor swim in the garden’s natural swimming pond. We’ll then round off with homemade cake and a choice of herbal teas.

The cost of the event is £15, including cake and herbal tea. Profits from the event will be donated to Lowdown, a Northamptonshire based charity committed to supporting mental health in young people locally. Booking is via our sister site Breathe4Good

Numbers are limited to 20

NB: this is an outdoor event, so weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather on 22 June, the event will be rearranged and refunds offered to anyone who cannot make the revised date
