Our weekend begins here. An evening concert of songs referencing nature and literature entwined with poetry to start our three day celebration of poetry on a high
Our festival closes with an event aimed at children. There’ll be a performance of poems taken from Robert Macfarlane’s “The Lost Words” collection of nature poems, following which we’ll have some arts and crafts activities inspired by the poetry.
Following the excitement of the previous day, take time out for some reflection on poetry, words and connection on the longest day of 2020.
Our headline event, featuring readings from the unparalleled Carol Ann Duffy and guests with time to enjoy the gardens before and after the poetry.
We’re thrilled to be joined for the festival by Annie Collins, an accredited trainer, facilitator, supervisor and artist and founder of Art as Medicine.
We’ll be stimulating our creativity with an enlivening yoga session in the poetry marquee, followed by an outdoor meditation absorbing the garden’s energies as the Summer solstice approaches.
Join us for a relaxed evening of poetic celebration as members of the audience take to the stage to perform their favourite poem in the poetry marquee.
We’ll be joined by our garden Laureate David Oram the Lyrcial Dancer and a jazz band for an opening night to remember.
